Airport Transfers to Las Lomas at La Manga Club

Part of the La Manga Club luxury resort, Las Lomas Village is perched on the hill, not far from the resort’s 5-star hotel, Hotel Principe Felipe. With its traditional Spanish village architecture and its stunning landscaping, you’d be forgiven for thinking Las Lomas is a separate village, and not part of the resort at all. It’s this level of thoughtful planning and landscaping that takes the whole La Manga Club resort from the ordinary to the exceptional.

Las Lomas village offers a host of self-catering accommodation, including a dozen studios, 10 one bed apartments, just short of 40 two-bed apartments, 10 three bed townhouses and 40 three bed apartments, as well as 20 hotel style bedrooms, which are offered on a serviced basis. The accommodation at La Manga’s Las Lomas is stylish, but with an emphasis on comfort and home-from-home facilities. Fully equipped kitchens include all you’d expect (including a dishwasher, washing machine and dryer!) and the lounges are comfortably kitted out with space to relax and watch TV or enjoy a DVD if you fancy it. Unlike some Spanish resorts, the Las Lomas self-catering apartments and townhouses include air-conditioning and heating, which means that they’re ideally suited for all year round visits.

Because the great outdoors is such a huge part of the whole La Manga experience, most of the self-catering accommodation boasts either a balcony or a terrace, both of which are equipped with barbecue, so you can choose to eat at home on the occasion that you don’t fancy heading off to one of the resort’s many restaurants. What’s more, guests choosing the Las Lomas Village self-catering experience will enjoy fresh linen and towels twice a week, along with a twice weekly cleaning service, so you won’t find yourself, or anyone else, having to “do the chores” whilst on holiday.

When it comes to things to do, Las Lomas is a really buzzing centre and offers a good choice of restaurants; its own spa and gym, within the wellness centre and indoor as well as outdoor swimming pools. Add to this, the café and mini market and you’ll start to see that by choosing to holiday at Las Lomas village, there isn’t much need to go offsite at all.

By choosing to stay at Las Lomas, you’ll have a great choice of restaurants, right on your doorstep, including India; Luigi’s, the Italian restaurant and Mr Chan’s, the Chinese restaurant, as well as many others. Thereafter you have La Pergola and La Veranda, which are the poolside eateries, open during high season. The Deli Café is a great place to have a delicious snack lunch or breakfast.

If you’re coming to enjoy the sport at La Manga Club however, you’ll be pleased to find out that all guests staying at Las Lomas Village qualify for preferential rates on a huge range of the resort’s sporting facilities. The deal for guests at Las Lomas includes free access to the indoor pool, gym, sauna and steam room at the La Manga Club Spa as well as reduced rates on the golf course and tennis courts. Guests are also welcome to use the shuttle bus as and when they need it, completely free of charge.

For families, Las Lomas is the perfect choice. There’s no need to worry if kids aren’t on best behavior as you might if you chose a hotel. When you’re self catering, you can keep to your kids routine, or let it go out the window, it’s entirely up to you. Las Lomas is particularly family-orientated and offers a babysitting service as well as children’s play areas and kiddies pools, to keep everyone in the family happy and entertained. What’s more, there’s a daytime childcare service on offer during selected school holidays, which enables mum and dad to get a break too.

When you’re planning your next holiday, La Manga Club Las Lomas Village is certainly worth adding to your short-list. Not only is the resort just a short flight from the UK, the nearby airports, Alicante and Murcia (San Javier) both have a great selection of budget flights and are only a relatively short drive from the resort. Add to this, the fact that you can choose between a range of well-equipped and comfortable accommodation and you start to see why more and more people choose La Manga Las Lomas Village. And finally, there’s the entertainment and the sports facilities. Yes, there’s no getting away from the fact that choosing a break, either in or out of season, at Las Lomas Village means that everyone gets to do what they want, when they want. Now that seems like a great deal all round, don’t you think?

Private hire company to introduce smart cars to its fleet

A private hire transport company based in Edinburgh has revealed plans to introduce Smart cars to its fleet in the New Year with the aim of reducing emissions and providing speedy and economical transportation for single passenger journeys.

Edinburgh Private Hire believe the new Smart car taxi service will be especially popular as it estimates that currently 55% of the trips undertaken by its drivers from its base at Edinburgh Airport are for single passengers.

Smart cars will not only help the company to reduce its CO2 emissions, but also enhance fuel consumption and also ease congestion due to the size of the pint size vehicles which makes them ideal for city driving.

The private hire firm is committed to green travel and says that in the future, they hope to introduce electric powered vehicles, however at the moment, the lack of charging points in the city would be a cause for concern for them. Until electric powered cars prove viable for the firm, the Smart cars will assist Edinburgh Private Hire in its bid to provide eco friendly travel.

Edinburgh Private Hire hope to have the first of their Smart cars up and running in the first quarter of 2012 after the City Council granted permission and waived licence conditions.

The company say they hope to pass on the savings to the customer through reduced fares as the cost would be set for single passengers.
